Prometheus Energetics LLC is currently seeking a financial controller to lead and manage all aspects of financial operations of the company. Prometheus Energetics is a new US-based joint venture and will be a market supplier of solid rocket motors, energetics, and other adjacent product areas for the US and international defense markets. This position oversees and controls the activities of the financial functional area through multiple levels of management within the company. This position will be responsible for translating the companyis financial strategies into tactical plans, reporting requirements, procedures and processes. This individual will also play a key role in maintaining internal controls, managing audits, and staying abreast of relevant regulations and accounting principles. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and approving changes to methods and practices. Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee financial plans, policies, accounting practices and procedures
- Lead the organizationis financial relationship with the Board of Directors / parent companies including reporting and analysis
- Execute day-to-day financial operations
- Accounting
- Oversee all accounting operations including GL, AR, AP, payroll, and inventory accounting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports
- Support audits and maintain audit-ready records
- Treasury
- Monitor cash flow and working capital management
- Optimize treasury operations
- Develop and manage short-term and long-term financial forecasts
- Support capital planning and funding strategies
- Tax
- Prepare/File Sales & Use and Property Tax Returns
- Review Payroll Tax Filings
- Serve as primary liaison to the CPA Tax Accounting firm for Income Tax
- Audit & Compliance
- Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors
- Lead the internal controls framework and implement enhancements as needed
- Support capital planning and funding strategies
- Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and function of the company's ERP system
- Determines staffing plans and resource allocation decisions for the finance function
- Develop and run annual budgeting processes including capital planning for the company
- Support highly visible activities with customers, executives, regulators and/or policy makers
- Reports to the Chief Operating Office

Required Experience:
Qualifications
- Strong skills in general accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, tax knowledge, budgeting, & asset management
- Investor and banking relationship management experience
- Experience with international partners including IFRS experience highly desired
- Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Strong written and verbal communications skills including communicating financial information to non-financial audiences
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
- Ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders including external relationships
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Must be a US Citizen due to the nature of the work
Education and Experience
- BS from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10 years of accounting leadership, Controller, or CFO experience in related industry
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
