Timeline and Expectations

Werner Electric Supply will be posting the internship positions starting in late September which will run through the end of November. We will be selecting candidates to move forward with from HR phone screen to virtual hiring manager interview during this time.

Job Summary

The Automation Technical Support Intern performs a variety of tasks - something new every day. They will assist the Automation team with their day-to-day customer support duties and assist instructors with classroom preparations and clean up. We look for candidates with a desire to learn and share their knowledge by helping co-workers and customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Attend and assist with training classes, including classroom setup and acting as a teacher's aide



  • Assist Technical Support Specialists with projects, lab setup and cleanup, and organizing product demonstrations



  • Support customer-facing events such as Counter Days, trade shows, and technical presentations



  • Perform lab equipment demo inventory and ensure equipment is maintained in good working order



  • Order and distribute technical literature and training materials



  • Shadow Automation Specialists to learn about industrial control systems, PLCs, and automation solutions



  • Assist with configuring basic demo equipment and preparing presentations for customer training sessions



  • Help maintain documentation of lab procedures, demo equipment usage, and training schedules



  • Research and summarize product information, technical trends, and competitor offerings to support the team



  • Provide general administrative support for training, events, and technical projects



  • Other related duties as assigned




Qualifications

Education and Experience: Must be pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in automation, electrical, or related field
