Job Description

The Accounts Payable Associate performs a variety of accounts payable processing responsibilities. This position is responsible for the timely processing of accounts payable invoices and pursuing additional verification/approval as needed. The Accounts Payable Associate maintains efficient and accurate files for reference and compliance, and may work with more senior accounting staff, divisional staff or vendors to resolve general issues.

Essential Functions



  • Scans and indexes all invoices into ONBASE system Ensures all documents are entered into document storage from multiple systems-SEMS, OnBase, AX, Oracle & SAP Concur
  • Approves Workflow for non-inventory expenses for accuracy
  • Prepares Check Runs, ACH, & Wire Payments
  • Ensures compliance with payment schedules to maximize discount opportunities if applicable
  • Audits for accurate data entry of invoices into the system, including but not limited to: steel, freight, and other miscellaneous invoices, as well as expense reports
  • Verifies divisional payables, makes necessary corrections
  • Contacts various department personnel to resolve discrepancies or problems; answers inquiries regarding work being performed
  • Reviews statements from miscellaneous vendors and verifies to make sure all invoices have been received and sent to corporate for payment
  • Protects Organization by keeping information confidential



Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Lawson, Oracle, AX, OnBase a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and accuracy


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 0-3 years of related prior work experience with strong, proven accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge of company production control and financial software
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently collect, consolidate, extract, and summarize data from multiple locations and systems
  • Proven teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently
