Data Systems Engineer

PRIMARY FUNCTION

DSoft is seeking a Data Systems Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role, you will ensure customers have access to accurate, reliable, and up-to-date data to support mission objectives. You will design, monitor, and optimize production pipelines, resolve technical issues, and contribute to system stability and performance. Working alongside other engineers, you will also provide feedback to improve product development and enhance user experience.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and maintain user-facing applications that align with mission requirements and operational needs.
• Support and execute data integration initiatives, ensuring secure and efficient data flow across systems.
• Design and implement user experience and navigation improvements to enhance usability and accessibility.
• Monitor pipeline health, respond to system issues, and implement fixes to improve stability and performance.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams and provide structured feedback to support ongoing enhancements.
• Partner with government, DoD, and mission stakeholders to address technical challenges and deliver solutions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Proficiency with programming and data tools such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, R, or Spark.
• Ability to work with existing code bases or established architectures, including pipeline design and maintenance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Background in space operations or space-related technologies.
• Experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) or government customers, with a track record of addressing mission-specific challenges.
• Prior military service or direct support of military operations.

Education & Clearance Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: 3-8 years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or related technical roles.
• Clearance: Must have Top Secret / SCI Eligible
