As a Product Manager, you will strategically lead the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and development through to market launch, ongoing enhancements, and eventual ramp-down. You will be instrumental in ensuring our products and services achieve market competitiveness, drive customer engagement, deliver an exceptional user experience, and significantly improve our Customer Perceived Value Index (CPVI). Your responsibilities will include developing and communicating comprehensive product roadmaps, establishing clear delivery guidelines, providing essential sales guidance, and ultimately achieving the revenue and profitability targets for your assigned portfolio.
- Interprets critical internal or external business issues and develops innovative solutions that help to sustain competitive advantage (EG responsible for a complete lifecycle of a particular Nokia product and thus using comprehensive analyses to collect information required to its professional management).
- Responsible for alignment amongst sales team and customer on key product priorities (EG selling the product roadmap to the customer).
- Defines processes and standards (EG ensuring Nokia products are always up-to-date, competitive and profitable).
- Uses knowledge on how the job contributes to the corporate goals as well as knowledge of industry and competitive landscape to increase own effectiveness (EG understanding customer requirements and market conditions to draw conclusions on how to increase sales by excellence in customer experience and product competitiveness).
- Influences strategic decisions within professional area that affect the performance of the subfunction (EG influencing decisions regarding the conception of a new products).
- Solves highly complex or novel problems based on sophisticated analytical thought and complex judgment.
- Independently develops concepts to set the professional direction of own organisational unit (EG leading end-to-end product lifecycle management activities).
- Acts as a senior subject matter expert, typically at a global or regional level, in many organisational units the most senior internal expert who serves as best practice / quality resource and is an acknowledged authority both within and outside own organisational unit.
- Often leads functional teams or projects with considerable resource requirements, risk, and complexity, handles day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work.
- Contributes to the effective contribution of key financial KPIs (P&L).
Key Product Management Responsibilities
- Ownership of 5G AiO Small Cell HW requirements including analysis and selection criteria for L1 SoC, L2 NPU and RF architecture
- Ownership of AiO Small Cell Hardware Features
- Ownership of RAN SW features
- Drive internal and external partnerships to develop an industry leading AiO 5G Small cell portfolio.
- Analyze customer requirements (HW & SW), market trends, technologies, standards, and competitors
- Translate the selected requirements during feature screening into R&D deliverables and releases with mandatory ROI and business case assessment.
- Feature life cycle management of AiO Small Cell Hardware and RAN features.
- Close cooperation and alignment with relevant stakeholders: ODM/SOC vendors/SCN/Procurement and R&D
- Drive HW architecture, design, and component selection decisions
- Responsibility for understanding and definition of customer use cases.
- Drive products/features through all required product management milestones. - Takes care that feature screening is executed according to planned schedule.
- Provide support to RFIs, RFPs and customer workshops. Establish and maintain relationship with key customer and drive thought leadership
- Gather competitive information and maintain competitive position on an ongoing basis for executive presentation and to drive strategy.
- Solution based focus that encompasses AiO/vRAN/ORAN, different customers architectures, high network element reuse and plug n' play requirements.
General:
- Provide RFx Response Support.
- Track customer raised field issues needing product management attention.
- Ensure product positioning in Markets is consistent with the roadmap, optimizing solution cost and maximizing sales margin
- Ensure opportunities' generation working closely with RBC presales on both existing and new customers through organizing workshops, customer visits, executive visits and eventual trials with the objective to influence tenders.
- Support MW&CSN Business Development team
- Support MN RBCs, SSM and Business &-Sales leader as well as CX Customer Teams in the development of opportunities for the major cases throughout the markets gathering competition intelligence information
- Coordinate with Marketing and Presales team for the definition of clear selling-messages towards the industry and markets, highlighting product values and strengths
- Mediate/Manage between Market, RBC and PLM in new features' definition/description, identifying customer value, business case definition and optimizing TCO.
- Contribute and/or participates to offer defense meeting and displace competitor solution
Your skills and experience
- Minimum 10 years work experience in UMTS/LTE/5G areas
- 4G and 5G and LTE RRM / Telecom functionality at an advanced level
- L1 SoC & RF knowledge at an advanced level (link budgets and RF planning advantageous)
- Good understanding of RAN SW architecture
- Good understanding of Small Cell platform and OAM SW
- Good understanding of HW and SW interaction
- Familiarity with factory process
- Experience in Partner management
- Experience in validating RAN nodes in field
- Thorough understanding of 3GPP specification for 4G and 5G
- Prior experience as Product Manager or System Architect
- Know how in small cell deployment, RF planning and optimization (indoors and outdoors) - addressing customer operational aspects.
- Strong presentation skills to a CxO audience
