Job Overview:

Assistant Vice President, Neurology and Neurosurgery Services provides Inpatient oversight includes General Neurology, Stroke Center, Adult and Pediatric Epilepsy, Pediatric general neurology, neuro-intervention and Neurosurgical services. It is the responsibility of the AVP of neuroscience to ensure budgetary expectations are met, expected TJC standards are achieved and maintained, and that patient care delivery is optimized and driven by quality. Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center policies are to be upheld by this leadership position

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, Current NJ License, BSN and national certification preferred,
  • 3 5 years neurology experience preferred
  • 5 years progressive leadership experience
  • Practice Management experience preferred
  • Inpatient quality, nursing and operations experience

Essential Functions:

  • The AVP of Neurology and Neurosurgery works as part of the patient care team in efforts to achieve goals established for both the individual patient and clinical services,
  • Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors,
  • The Assistant Vice President collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop the strategic priorities for the Neurology, and Neurosurgical Service Lines,
  • Serves as the liaison from CBMC to the neurosciences service line, for the medical group neurology practices and for private practice neurology and neurosurgical practices in the CBMC catchment area,
  • Oversee the development, direction, and coordination of the clinical and business operations for the service line and provides management and supervisory leadership to leaders and staff involved in such functions,
  • Provide expert counsel regarding clinical operations and strategies for its growth and development and is responsible for the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of policies on business and clinical operations, nursing, social work, and hospital networks,
  • Works with legal and contracting teams on the formulation of proformas, jobdescriptions and bonus metrics for physicians within the neurology and neurosurgery depts,
  • Prepare departmental operational and capital budgets and develop and annually update a long-range financial plan that supports the organizations strategic plans and objectives,
  • Monitor all patient care programs and activities to ensure high-quality care and patient-centered safety programs,
  • Develop integrated systems that support and continuously improve the patient experience,
  • Works as an integral member of the neuroscience system service line ensuring alignment across facilities,
  • Works with service line VPs to ensure standardization across the system
  • Insure that [unit/department/division] is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations,
