Responsibilities

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in the safe, historical Tenleytown neighborhood, PIW is one mile from the Tenleytown Metro stop and within walking distance to local cafes and restaurants.

Basic Functions:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist facilitates employee leave requests, data changes, assist with new hire employee orientation, manages position control, assists with employee engagement and Service Excellence initiatives, conducts 30/60/90 day check-ins, conducts employee relations investigations and manages the dispute resolution process.

  • Consults with management and the Human Resources Director on employee relations issues, counseling and termination procedures.
  • Coordinates the Employee Dispute Resolution Process activities and conducts related investigations/findings in a timely manner. Reports and responds to all employees with respect to findings and outcomes in a timley manner.
  • Responsible for the coordination of audits, HR Information System data entry for new hires, transfers, pay changes, address updates and other employee related information and changes.
    • Ensures that licensures for licensed-required positions are verified through primary source verification process upon hire and at renewal dates.
    Audits personnel files for current and accurate records. Directs preparation of personnel-related documents for the Joint Commission surveys.
    • Coordinates with Department Heads in maintaining all compliance issues with their staff: Competency, Performance Evaluations and Orientation and other required training.
    • Initiate and track staff changes process
    • Conducts, track and report new hire, transfer and promotion surveys

Qualifications

Requirements:

** This is not a remote position**

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is required, Masters degree preferred.

Must have 5+ years of hands-on experience in Human Resources in a HRBP, HR Generalist or related position. Prior experience in a healthcare organization highly desired.

Five years of basic Human Resource Information System (HRIS) knowledge required: Lawson or other HRIS. Knowledge of these systems is a plus: iCIMS, i9 Advantage, Cisive, Equifax, Learning Management and Performance Management Systems, SkillSurvey.

Must be an effective communicator and collaborator. Must have the ability to work cooperatively and effectively within Human Resources and other departments to reach organizational goals.

Knowledge of the full-cycle recruiting processes and regulations.

Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards preferred.

Will have demonstrated effective writing, speaking and listening skills.

Closure: Must be detail-oriented adaptable and follow-up on tasks and employee inquiries to closure and excellent time management ability. Will be able to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines.

Confidentiality: Must maintain impeccable confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher) and ZOOM required.
