Reporting directly to the Dean, the Chief of Staff manages the administrative, operational and/or financial affairs of the Dean's Office at USC Gould School of Law and represents that office to other University officers and campus officials.As a strategist, consultant and implementer, the successful candidate will ensure streamlined personnel and academic activities within the organization based on the priorities set forth by the Dean. The Chief of Staff serves as a senior advisor to the Dean on significant and sensitive issues and is responsible for working strategically and collaborating cross-functionally to provide project leadership to and on behalf of the Dean. The Chief of Staff reviews and analyzes internal and external communications and responses of the Dean's Office; gathers information relative to such matters, identifies issues and concerns impacting the College; and assists with the preparation and/or review of oral or written presentations or briefings, speeches, testimony, or interview responses for the Dean. The Chief of Staff serves as an enthusiastic and informed ambassador for initiatives central to USC's commitment to excellence, innovation, and efficiency. Minimum Education: Master's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 7 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related administrative management experience in a university or corporate environment. Thorough knowledge of management principles, budgeting, finance, and applicable laws/regulations. Demonstrated leadership in planning, organizing and operating a large complex organization. Exceptional interpersonal skills. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to use computer technology with efficiency and effectiveness.
