About the Department
The mission of the NC State Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. This position will serve in the Facilities section of the North Carolina State University Athletic Department which competes as a NCAA Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Essential Job Duties
This position is for current permanent NC State University employees only.

  • Supervise the daily management of the NC State's athletic turf and grounds.
  • Provide leadership in maintaining all athletic equipment and vehicles for on NC State athletic facilities.
  • Work closely with supervisors regarding facilities maintenance needs, events, budgets, schedules and spending for all athletic facilities.
  • Work athletic and special events as required.
  • Assist in all aspects of facility management as required.
  • Supervise 4-6 full-time staff responsible for the maintenance of on-campus facilities and grounds.
  • Oversee event staff as needed.
  • Monitor and manage budget. Make staffing and purchase recommendations to limit expenditures.
  • Assist in managing Zero Waste Wolfpack and other Athletic Department sustainability initiatives.

Other Responsibilities

  • This position is considered Essential and Key for University operations. Therefore, this position may be required to report to work during Adverse Weather conditions and even though the University may be operating under an alternative work schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and administration.

Qualifications






Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in the trade(s) areas assigned; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in Facilites in Collegiate or Professional Athletics.
  • Knowledge of game day event set up and management.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Facilities and Turf & Grounds Maintenance, including general plumbing, electrical and repairs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Facilities and Turf & Grounds management in Collegiate or Professional Athletics.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
