Are you a student looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment? Join ourBWR Services teamin Chattanooga, TN as anField Services Student Technician. This is a program where students work part-time during the school year to gain experience in their respective fields.

In this role, you'll support ourTooling and Technology Engineering teamthrough a variety of assignments ranging from mechanical assembly and equipment handling to drafting and data management. You'll collaborate with design engineers, field service technicians, and training subject matter experts in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assemble mechanical equipment and communicate progress effectively.





  • Conduct product research for mechanical/electrical components.





  • Support load testing and documentation for specialized lifting devices.





  • Pack/unpack equipment for field delivery or internal projects.





  • Operate hand tools, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment.





  • Use machine tools, electrical test equipment, welding equipment, and service tools to support nuclear equipment repair.





  • Update SharePoint sites and manage equipment tracking (Excel, SAP).





  • Organize the engineering shop area and assist with purchasing needed items.





  • Handle material logistics for customer demos and internal training.





  • Draft using 3D software (as needed).





  • Update procedures and route documents in the repository.





  • Practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principles, Industrial Health & Safety, ALARA principles, and site-specific security protocols.





  • Participate in safety observations and contribute to a strong Nuclear Safety Culture.





Qualifications:



  • Currently enrolled student with a strong interest in technical work.





  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.





  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.





  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.





  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks independently.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $18 per hour.
