The Facilities & Program Assistant assists with maintaining the Distribution Center facility and grounds, and assists with receiving and handling donations and providing program support. About the role:
- Cleans the Distribution Center offices, meeting rooms, hallways, restrooms, and warehouse areas. This includes sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, cleaning toilets, keeping restrooms supplied with essential toiletries; removing trash and garbage; cleaning windows and glass doors; dusting furniture, etc.
- Keep grounds and parking lot clean from broken glass, trash, etc. Removes trash from outdoor garbage containers.
- Prepare meeting rooms by setting up tables, chairs, equipment as requested in a timely fashion.
- Monitor cleaning supplies, notifying supervisor of low inventories.
- Identify and report to supervisor any maintenance needs of the facility, such as replacement of fluorescent lights, ballasts, light bulbs, repairs, leaks, etc.
- Assist with maintaining all equipment and vehicles in proper working order.
- Assists with minor building repairs as directed.
- Assists with maintaining the grounds, performing snow removal, hedge trimming, and other seasonal property needs as assigned.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
- Strip, wax, and buff tile floors as directed; spot clean and shampoo carpets as needed.
- Assist with recording inventory of donations received and documentation of donation distribution.
- Sort materials and donations coming into the warehouse.
- Use Salvation Army vehicles to pick up donations or supplies and deliver stock, as directed by supervisor.
- Assist in unloading/loading deliveries to/from the Distribution Center.
- Operate manual pallet jacks to receive deliveries and move items in warehouse.
- Assist with general property security concerns, including securing the building and setting alarms.
- Provide back-up support for the receptionist including answering phones and receiving and helping visitors and volunteers.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Six months of related work experience. Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clearance to drive from TSA insurance.
