The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Senior Service Manager to our growing team in to provide excellent administrative support. In this role, you will lead, mentor, and develop a large truck-based Field Team (Union staff), take on a proactive role with market, industry and technology trends, plan and set team up for optimized delivery of services and lead strategic initiatives. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

  • Support day-to-day HVAC service operations including dispatch, maintenance, repairs, and installations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and internal quality benchmarks.

  • Determine field strategies to drive efficiency and change management to optimize processes.

  • Maintain high-quality service delivery of services in an efficient, productive and profitable manner.

  • Manage a field truck-based technician team up to 60 individuals.

  • Responsible for building a high-performance work team to ensure superior customer service, high retention of employees, and a preferred place to work.

  • Interview, hire, train, coach, and manage team members to meet business needs.

  • Communicate performance expectations and provide performance feedback.

  • Assess Team and Individual effectiveness through the use and analysis of available reports and data.

  • Responsible for actively coaching and developing team.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Minimum 7-10 years in HVAC service management or related leadership roles.

  • Minimum 10 years in HVAC or similar trades.

  • Proven track record in managing service teams, client relationships, and complex HVAC/Facilities projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in HVAC, engineering, business, or related field experience.

  • Universal EPA License, Electrical License, and HVAC Excellence Certification highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and energy efficiency strategies.

  • Ability to learn and navigate Business Information Systems, ERP Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Teams, SalesForce

The pay range for this position is $93,600 - $163,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
