Job Description:

As a Senior Tax Manager in the Lead Tax Services Group, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing client engagements and guiding multiple service teams across a variety of industries. This position requires the ability to plan, direct, and deliver complex tax projects while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and partners. The Senior Manager will provide strategic insight, foster strong client relationships, and contribute to the growth and development of both the team and the practice. With a focus on leadership, collaboration, and technical excellence, this role is central to driving high-quality outcomes and advancing the firm's reputation in the marketplace

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert with a focus on Subchapter C taxation and tax provision matters, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting
  • Provide expertise in M&A transactions, including due diligence, document review, structuring, and related compliance and reporting
  • Leverage strong partnership taxation knowledge as a secondary area of expertise to support a diverse client base
  • Apply prior experience working with private equity group (PEG) owned portfolio companies, addressing their unique tax challenges
  • Manage a multi-national and multi-state client portfolio, acting as a primary point of contact alongside the partner, with strong familiarity in related tax issues
  • Lead and oversee multiple client service teams, ensuring delivery of high-quality service and technical excellence
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and share knowledge with team members
  • Exhibit solid leadership skills, fostering collaboration, engagement, and professional development among staff
  • Ensure effective financial management of client engagements, including budgeting, billing, and profitability oversight

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting required, Masters in Taxation or LLM is a plus
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend
  • Working with the tax team to identify and resolve client issues
  • Anticipating and addressing client concerns and resolving problems as they arise
  • Successful engagement and client management skills, and experience with growing client relationships
  • Possess effective writing, communication and tax research skills
  • Sub C and Provision experience Sub K experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and mentorship experience

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $106,500.00 - $267,500.00 per year.
