   The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This list of duties is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all the functions and responsibilities performed. Position Summary:Under limited supervision of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, process and issue payment of operational liabilities, data entry, verify accuracy in assigned duties, posting of transactions, and provide support and training for staff members.

   Duties and Responsibilities: 
    Manage Business Office imaging programTrain, supervise, monitor and adjust workload of student employeesPerform complex accounting related to university purchasesVerify and process payment for Issue Check Requisitions, Request for Payment forms and Blanket Purchase OrdersSchedule and process deferred vendor paymentsAssist with 1099-MISC processesAssist with the verification and documentation of New Mexico Gross Receipts liabilities for student activitiesCommunicate with vendors and university staff - inform departments of proper procedures and ensure the procedures are followedAssist with fiscal year end payable listRegular and predictable attendance is requiredPerform other duties as assigned Minimum Job Requirements: A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years' experience directly related to the duties specified or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
    Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices, including the keeping of financial accounts, records retention and preparation of reportsAbility to perform moderately complex bookkeeping and financial record-keepingAbility to pay close attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingSkill in the use of standard office equipment including desk calculator by touch and computer
 
   Working Conditions
  
 
   Physical Demand and Working Conditions: 
    Work is performed during normal work hours, with some evenings and weekends to meet deadlinesWork is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
