Department Overview
Electric Operations (EO) ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
Position Summary
Leads teams of employees in maintaining and building the service territory transmission lines or substations. Provides safe and reliable electric service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission General Orders, all Safety regulations and other regulatory requirements. Implements best safety practices and holds subordinates accountable for adhering to established practices.

The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, and geographic location.
The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate inPG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Pay Range:
- Minimum: $155,00
- Midpoint: $210,00
- Maximum: $265,00
Job Responsibilities
- Develops and tracks metrics that provide data for process measurement, business operations or risk assessment and present findings to leadership.Ensures maintenance and construction work in assigned area is completed on time, within budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Improves employee morale and business understanding throughout service territory on a ongoing basis; seeking input and ideas from employees and sharing key message about the Company performance, industry trends, etc.
- Partners with peers and subordinates to continuously develop and implement improved business processes and best practices.Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition.
- Proactively prepares for emergency situations; supports company efforts during emergency situations; communicates deficiencies in emergency response/preparedness; and resolves issues quickly and efficiently using the correct resources.Improves safety and human performance, including OSHA recordable rate, lost work day case rate, and motor vehicle incident rate.
- Assesses complex field situations and makes decisions/recommendations for solution.Recommends best practices to subordinates and overrides unsafe decisions in a practical tactical way.Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements of the California Public Utility Commission, Cal OSHA, Environmental Protection Agency, etc., including Notice of Violation (NOV), Notice to Comply (NOC), and environmental compliance.
- Manages capital and expense spending to ensure work identified in the program plan is completed and productivity cost targets are achieved.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ten (10) years of experience working in electric utility industry
- Seven (7) years of experience in leadership
- Regular travel throughout the service territory for T300 Supervisors.
- May need to be on-call or work unusual hours in emergency situations.
Desired:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in coaching and mentoring
- Leadership experience, electric construction
- Leadership experience with emphasis on fiscal responsibility, employee performance management, data, material management and process improvement
- Experience in substation construction and maintenance
