The College of Business, Industry, Life Science, and Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Lecturer position in Construction Management/Engineering Technology Management, beginning January 2026. The Applied Engineering Technology Management department offers programs in Engineering Technology Management, Construction Management, and Technical and Engineering Education.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in construction management, engineering technology management, and construction safety, emphasizing applied, hands-on learning. Additional responsibilities include advising students, supporting curriculum development, engaging with industry partners, and contributing to program and department initiatives.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate courses in, or related to, construction management or engineering technology management, ranging from introductory to capstone levels dependent on applicants' qualifications and/or experience.

  • Teach undergraduate construction safety courses.

  • Develop and deliver training in new and innovative construction and engineering technologies with a focus on student learning in applied situations.

  • Serve as academic advisor, support curriculum development, maintain professional contacts, and pursue professional development.

  • Teach courses through alternative delivery methods, as needed.

  • Actively follow and promote applicable safety rules and regulations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Required Qualifications:

One of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction management, Industrial Technology Management, Engineering Technology, or related field, plus 5 years of related professional experience. Applicant will be required to obtain a department approved Master's within 2 years of hiring.

OR

  • Master's degree and 5 years' experience in at least one of the following: Construction management, Industrial Technology Management, Engineering Technology.

Required:

  • At least one semester of teaching experience at the college level.

  • Demonstrated understanding of theories and an ability to teach using technology and machines/equipment in a hands-on laboratory.

  • Proven commitment to undergraduate education and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a supportive, collegial environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with industry professionals.

The department has twelve faculty members and over 500 students with up-to-date laboratory facilities. The department offers a B.S. degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology Management and Technology and Engineering Education.
