The Custodian is responsible for cleaning facilities, removing waste and recycling, and monitoring building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours. Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.

Available Shifts

  • 1st: Tuesday-Saturday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

  • 3rd: Sunday-Thursday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
  • Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
  • Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
  • Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
  • Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Learn and perform all essential job duties safely and independently.
  • Read and follow instructions on cleaning chemicals, equipment, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
  • Follow supervisor directions and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Perform and complete multiple tasks and assignments per shift efficiently.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and confined or elevated spaces (e.g. when performing snow/ice removal waste/recyclables disposal).
  • Operate manual and powered cleaning equipment with full range of motion.
  • Maintain alertness and productivity during assigned shifts.
  • Use tools required to perform all custodial tasks.
  • Work effectively with teams for major cleaning projects.

Compensation

$31,200 - $41,600

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma of GED
  • Demonstrated experience with basic cleaning and disinfecting best practices
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of custodial cleaning equipment
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of snow removal equipment

Ergonomic Requirements

  • Must have physical strength and stamina to perform duties.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Push, pull, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Perform repetitive motions.
  • Work in occasional extreme weather conditions.
