Position Description

Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.

Major/Essential Functions

Recruitment 50%

  • Travel to various off-campus recruiting events, actively engaging with guests and providing insights at both off-campus and on-campus events.
  • Organize receptions and functions for various conventions such as Texas FFA, National FFA, and the State Fair of Texas
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the student recruitment plan for the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
  • Support the accomplishment of established University recruitment, engagement, and retention goals through informed decision-making.
  • Track and analyze recruiting efforts to adjust the recruitment plan as necessary, utilizing independent judgment to enhance outcomes.
  • Coordinate Davis College activities and participation at university-hosted recruitment events, including University Days, Red Raider Experience, Raider Roadshows, group tours, and Connect Tech.
  • Cultivate and foster relationships with high school and community college counselors, teachers, and other partners to optimize recruitment efforts.
  • Provide personalized tours and college information to prospective students, families, groups, and special guests, utilizing independent judgment to tailor presentations.
  • Supervise activities of the Davis College Agri-Techsans, including coordinating their travel

Recruitment Communications & Marketing 35%
  • Design and revise recruitment materials, including printed materials, digital booth elements, and promotional items (swag), with a focus on effectiveness
  • Develop social media strategies and comprehensive plans ahead of key recruitment events in collaboration with the Davis College Communications Leadership team
  • Work closely with the Davis College Communications Leadership team to ensure adherence to Texas Tech Davis College brand guidelines throughout all recruitment efforts.
  • Provide the information to maintain the Davis College website, ensuring alignment with recruitment objectives.

Other 15%
  • Serve as a liaison for the Dean's office to the College Recruitment, Retention, and Career Development Committee, offering valuable insights.
  • Support office staff in answering telephones and greeting visitors when needed
  • Assist with planning and conducting Red Raider Orientation
  • Crosstrain in job duties of other staff members associated with the SSC, gaining broader knowledge of each function within the center and performing necessary duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
