Patient Service Representative (PSR) - Kidney Care | Nephrology | MaineHealth

Location: 1600 Congress St, Ste B, Portland, ME 04102

Schedule:

Part-Time (24 hours/week) | 3 consistent 8-hour shifts

Position Summary:
MaineHealth Nephrology is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our Portland-based team. As the first point of contact for our patients, the PSR plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and supporting the daily operations of our busy nephrology practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner

  • Answer phones, route calls, and take accurate messages

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments

  • Perform general office duties, including data entry, filing, and handling medical records

  • Ensure patient information is up to date and assist with check-in/check-out processes

Position Details:

  • Hours: 3 consistent 8-hour shifts per week (24 hours total)

    • Preferred hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (negotiable)

  • Operating Facility Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Work Environment: On-site only (no remote flexibility)

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience required - we will train the right candidate!

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment

  • Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in administrative tasks

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
