OverviewAre you passionate about making Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems safe, secure, and trustworthy? The Responsible AI (RAI) team, part of Microsoft's CoreAI organization, is looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will work with cross-functional partners to shape Microsoft's responsible AI system and generative AI products. The successful candidate will be a proven sociotechnical translator with the ability to understand the regulatory and customer environment as well as engineering realities, and design solutions that bridge those perspectives. Microsoft's RAI team on CoreAI helps ensure the responsible development and deployment of cutting-edge AI-first products across Microsoft. If you join the RAI team, you will join an organization committed to partnering with stakeholders across policy, research, and engineering to help every product team in Microsoft ship these evolving technologies responsibly. As a TPM, you will understand and help address the responsible AI risks of generative AI releases across the company. You will partner with policy, legal, research, and engineering stakeholders to rapidly adjust to the changing technology and policy landscape, driving the development and implementation of new best practices and tools across product teams. This role requires understanding generative AI use cases and responsible AI, a keen sense of product and program management to support the implementation of responsible AI commitments while keeping innovation in mind, and sufficient technical background to understand responsible AI measurement and mitigation techniques. You must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to solve problems amid ambiguity as part of an agile and fast-paced team. You will leverage your ability to pattern-match, your product-oriented mindset, and your user-centric approach to inform improvements to Microsoft's responsible AI ecosystem and to directly shape the next wave of AI products. Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
ResponsibilitiesAssess product releases for responsible AI risks and mitigation effectiveness while building working relationships and trust. Identify patterns and gaps across use cases, assessments, and requirements, helping others define new solutions and collaborating with engineering and policy partners to clarify requirements and close gaps. Help drive continuous improvements in process efficiency and effectiveness at scale, including scaling your knowledge of generative AI technology, customer use cases, and translating policies into responsible AI practices. Support team roadmapping, communications, metrics definition, and progress tracking.
