ChampionX is seeking a Shop Technician to support our Gas Lift product line and located in the Tyler TX.

What You Will Do:

  • Attend to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and oversee equipment improvements and time critical repairs; maintain preventative maintenance and breakdown report and part usage records; investigate the root cause and recommend course of action.

  • Assists shop on problem identification, trouble shooting and equipment issue resolution and repair. Evaluate non-conforming products to determine appropriate requirements to rework, repair, or scrap items.

  • Oversee spare parts inventory and may use a computerized maintenance management system.

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment, building and safety systems; perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, modifications and fabrications, installation, troubleshooting, pipe fitting, gas fitting, welding, etc.; troubleshoot electrical equipment using test equipment and circuit diagrams.

  • Coordinate and direct contractors for specialized repairs and installations; maintain good working relations with internal customers and contractors.

  • Maintain toolkit, supplies, and requisite tool inventory.

  • Conduct facility and equipment inspections as a part of the Emergency Response Procedures.

  • Lead and implement Lean 5S + 1 project as a role model.

  • May coach line employees on basic maintenance procedures.

  • Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Utilize hand or power tools and heavy equipment, such as, forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe, reliable manner.

  • Assist with inventory counts of current stock levels to identify potential shortages or excesses.

  • Complete inspections, repair of parts and routine maintenance on capillary trailers.

  • Deliver parts to technicians on job sites.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • Valid Driver's License

  • 2 years of experience in a shop environment or similar work

  • Good mechanical aptitude

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools

  • Basic computer knowledge

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand for the entire work day.

  • The employee regularly lifts and carries 50 lbs. and occasionally lifts and carries up to 100 lbs, with assistance.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to pick, feel and/or inspect material. The employee will also reach with hands and arms as needed.

  • Repetitive bending, reaching, pulling and lifting.

  • Pushing and pulling wheeled carts weighing up to 1000 lbs.
