Summary |
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for performing routine payroll processing tasks, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with college policies, state, and federal regulations. This role provides support to the Payroll Coordinator and Payroll Manager in maintaining payroll records, addressing employee inquiries, and preparing payroll reports.

Essential Role Responsibilities |
- Process semi-monthly payroll data, including time and attendance records.
- Verify the accuracy of payroll information and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll files, records, and employee information.
- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with applicable wage, hour, and tax regulations.
- Assist in generating payroll reports for HR and Finance departments.
- Support payroll audits and other related functions as needed. |

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of payroll or accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. |

HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The
ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The
ORP. |
