- Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma and tertiary care center and home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a preceptor pharmacist, will assist in the technical and clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations.
- Trained in the compounding of non-sterile medications in accordance with USP 795 and other regulatory agencies and organizational policies.
- Prepare sterile intravenous admixtures aseptically and in accordance with USP 797/800, State Board of Pharmacy regulations and organizational policies.
- Accurately restock and replenish pharmacy with inventory from orders as well as medications received from returns from floor or automated dispensing machines.
- Ensure all expired, damaged, or compromised medication in pharmacy, automated machines, and floor stock are removed and segregated from active inventory.
- Assist in training of newly hired pharmacy technicians.
- Manage cabinet inventory, review and adjust par levels, and monitor expiration dates.
- Monitor and reviews daily batch reports, such as restock reports, stock out reports, all station events, discrepancies, overrides, ordered meds not loaded, etc.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School graduate or GED.
- Enrolled in an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Active Registered Pharmacy Intern in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by the state of employment.
- IV Certification or training, based on state requirements.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
