Description
We are looking for an Azure Data Platform Administrator to join our Data & Analytics team in the US or Canada. You will play a key role in managing databases in the cloud and your tasks involve ensuring data security, improving database performance and fixing issues. By managing databases well, you help Analytics applications and services run smoothly. You will be responsible of the administration of our Azure data and analytics platform which include Azure Data Factory, ADLS and Reporting. As a technical expert, you will provide guidance and expertise to your management and your colleagues from the Data and Analytics team, Infrastructure team as well as to third-party vendors and other major stakeholders. Key Responsibilities The function consists of different responsibilities:
- Monitor Azure Analytics Services and applications, including security and users activities on Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Databricks, Key vault, Azure Blob storage, Azure DevOps and Power BI platform.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts and Data Engineers, Infrastructure and IT Security teams to ensure well-oiled operations on the Azure data and analytics platform including ADF, Power BI and ensure high availability, including infrastructure, network, database, application.
- Partner with IT and business to capture system requirements and propose required enhancements to data flow, data security and retention.
- Implement solutions to monitor Data Engineering's development activities: Azure data pipelines, job schedules and systems to ensure performance and uptime
- Investigate and handle incidents, log Analysis and recommend optimal fixes / best practices for the Azure Data platform and services.
- Raise issues with the Data Analysts, Data Engineers and third-party vendors.
- Provide on-call support in the production environment.
- Manage ongoing security and audit controls to ensure compliance
- Provide capacity planning, cloud cost analysis and cloud resources optimization
- Ensure data catalog are tracked for all data objects and documentations are up-to-date

- You will be required to contribute to projects to ensure a stable cloud data warehouse and analytics technologies after a brief acclimation period
- We expect you to be familiar with the specific solutions in place after the incubation period.
Key Competence Requirements You will need to have:
- Bachelor's / Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a combination of technical skills, cloud and system administration
- 7+ years of experience in cloud administration
- Strong experience with cloud data warehouse and analytics technologies such as Azure Data Factory, ADLS, SQL Server (SSIS and SSAS) and Power BI would be required
- Solid experience with infrastructure (operating system and networking) and cloud administration is a must
- Experience required with data access control/security models
- Experience managing code and dependencies, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps/GitHub.
- Proficiency in SQL
- Experience with Agile methodologies in a cloud, database, data warehousing and BI space
- Researching emerging technologies, trends, standards, and products.
- Ability to communicate complex information to internal and external audiences.
- Experience with IAAS, PAAS and SAAS architecture on the cloud
Preferred Skills:
- Azure certifications (data related)
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, ADLS and SQL Server (SSIS and SSAS), Azure Functions, Databricks, Key vault, Azure Blob storage, Azure DevOps and Power BI platform
