The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

As a School Compliance Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our education programs meet state and national licensure requirements so aspiring teachers and leaders can reach more classrooms across the country.

What You'll Do
  • Drive program approvals and state licensure compliance - research and interpret requirements for teacher and education programs across multiple states, and coordinate documentation for approval and renewal.
  • Partner across teams - collaborate with Academic Affairs, Colleges of Education, and Regulatory Affairs to gather data, verify program details, and prepare submissions that keep our programs accredited and accessible nationwide.
  • Keep us audit-ready - develop and maintain policies, procedures, and reports to ensure ongoing compliance with external boards, commissions, and departments of education.
  • Stay ahead of change - monitor evolving state and national education regulations and advise stakeholders on potential impacts to program design and approval timelines.
  • Craft high-quality documentation - write clear, accurate, and compelling reports, narratives, and responses for state and accrediting bodies.
  • Champion continuous improvement - identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and strengthen compliance systems.
What You Bring
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required (preferred in writing-intensive, policy, or education field such as Communications, English, Public Policy, Education Administration).
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years experience in regulatory compliance, accreditation, academic program management, or licensure- ideally in a K-12 or higher education setting.
    • Familiarity with state authorization, accreditation, or program approval processes.
    • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with a passion for translating policy into practical action.
  • Tech & Tools: Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Salesforce, or similar systems.
  • Mindset: Highly organized, flexible, curious, and able to manage shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy and composure.
Bonus Points For
  • Experience supporting teacher preparation or licensure programs in higher education or K-12 settings.
  • Graduate degree in Education, Communications, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Experience preparing accreditation self-studies or state approval submissions.
  • Multistate or multi-jurisdiction program knowledge.
  • Bilingual communication skills.

Position & Application Details

Full-Time Regular Positions (classified as regular and working 40 standard weekly hours): This is a full-time, regular position (classified for 40 standard weekly hours) that is eligible for bonuses; medical, dental, vision, telehealth and mental healthcare; health savings account and flexible spending account; basic and voluntary life insurance; disability coverage; accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity supplemental coverages; legal and identity theft coverage; retirement savings plan; wellbeing program; discounted WGU tuition; and flexible paid time off for rest and relaxation with no need for accrual, flexible paid sick time with no need for accrual, 11 paid holidays, and other paid leaves, including up to 12 weeks of parental leave.
