This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes three days on-site at Student Health on campus and two remote. DESCRIPTIONThe mission of the Student Health & Well-Being (SHW) cluster is to promote a culture of health and well-being for the student community, deliver equitable high quality innovative services, incorporate inclusive approaches, and celebrate diversity, with the goal of adoption and maintenance of healthy behaviors contributing to the academic success and personal development of all students. The UC San Diego SHW cluster, which reports through UC San Diego Health System, plays a leadership role in creating a strong and active wellness culture that enables all students to flourish in body, mind and spirit. This includes promotion and the transformation of existing departments, under the oversight of the Executive Director, into a cohesive, trans-disciplinary source of integrated wellness services. The SHW cluster includes the departments of Student Health Services (SHS); Health Promotion Services (HPS); Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS); Assessment and Analytics (SHAA), Strategic Planning, Innovation and Research (SPIR); and SHW Administration (ADM). The SHW cluster provides health promotion, counseling and psychological services and primary medical care, including urgent care and support services, to over 43,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Staff consists of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologist, pharmacists, optometrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, radiology technologists, clinical laboratory scientists, medical lab assistants, medical assistants, health educators, administrative and other healthcare professionals. SHW Strategic Planning, Innovation and Research (SPIR) is responsible for identifying and prioritizing strategic initiatives, setting and monitoring appropriate goals, and developing and integrating new strategies through cross-functionality within SHW and in collaboration with external stakeholders and campus partners. SPIR also ensures that strategies are both forward-thinking and deeply aligned with the overall University, UC San Diego Health, and Student Health and Well-Being objectives; thus, setting the stage for sustainable success and growth to meet the unique needs of our vibrant and diverse student population, and create a welcoming and inclusive environment for our dedicated workforce. In addition, SPIR facilitates collaborative research that delivers compassionate, innovative, and transformational care that contributes to the academic success and personal development of all students. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning, Innovation and Research, this position is part of the Marketing and Communications Team and provides marketing and communication services to the Student Health and Well-Being Cluster. The incumbent works on a broad range of projects involving the development and execution of marketing strategies, cluster publications, website maintenance, printing, marketing campaigns, social media, branding, and public and campus messaging, and works with various communications teams on campus. Design experience in Adobe Suites is required (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) to design graphics for various publications. The position assists with the maintenance of content across multiple websites and social media platforms; develops positive working relationships with external and internal stakeholders, student body, university staff and faculty while working collaboratively with the Student Health and Well-Being Cluster team to achieve marketing, communications and engagement goals for the department. The incumbent will have experience coordinating and scheduling social media posts, content creation, and managing comments and replies. Incumbent must have experience creating engaging stories, posts and videos on Instagram. Incumbent must have experience working with graphic design, video editing, and closed captioning applications. Experience working with vendors to design and produce promotional items like brochures, t-shirts, pens, tote bags, etc, is highly preferred. The candidate uses skills as an experienced marketing and communications professional with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Uses marketing concepts in performing non-complex responsibilities such as planning, developing and implementing basic marketing plans, drafting promotional or marketing materials, working on marketing events, conducting basic market research, etc. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $60,300 - $103,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $28.88 - $49.76 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
