Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for assisting the Pathologists, Pathology Assistants', Histotechs and Cytotech to ensure proper workflow of the departments: daily duties may include instrument maintenance/cleaning, quality assurance and data entry. This position may prepare specimens using specific technical equipment and procedures. (NOTE: prefer local candidates)

Schedule (flexibilty a must, due to operations and training), both shifts below eligible for shift premium: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 400 pm

You Will:

  • Ability to perform support functions in the laboratory
  • Maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed
  • Provide accurate and timely receiving and processing of specimens
  • Assist Pathologists' Assistants, Histology, and Cytology departments, as needed
  • Perform Sendouts laboratory duties
  • Maintain knowledge of current CAP requirements and State & Federal regulations
  • Quality control data entry
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent: associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science, preferred
  • Anatomical Laboratory experience, with experience in histology, cytology and or send-out processing, highly preferred
  • Ability to maintain accuracy, especially with numeric sequencing and maintaining metrics
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Adhere to HIPAA patient confidentiality standards
  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
  • Competency with computers and MS Office programs
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently

Pay Range: $21.10 - $28.00 USD Hourly

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Generally, new hire offers will be between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on experience (DOE), with the ability to grow within the range over time.
