Position Highlights The Senior Marketing Manager (Marketing Specialist III) plays a key role in driving marketing initiatives that support the University of Arizona's enrollment goals. This position leads the execution of strategic marketing plans and projects, collaborating closely with colleagues to deliver effective, brand-aligned deliverables. Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment Marketing, Communication & Events, the Senior Marketing Manager provides leadership within the team and may supervise up to two full-time staff members.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Manages the creation of online and print ads, collateral, direct mail/email, web and video tactics to support units' marketing goals, which includes: determining appropriate content, creative direction, personnel and timeline for each request; coordinating execution of the project with in-house or outsourced teams as appropriate; communicating frequently about project status to both the marketing and campus partner teams; working with vendors; and ensuring that projects are produced on time and within budget.

2. Utilizes project management system to manage and execute projects; track and report project milestones and provide status reports to supervisor. Measures and reports performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals.

3. Supervises marketing strategy staff to ensure positive outcomes and alignment of resources with divisional priorities. Manages hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees on the marketing strategy team.

4. Ensures that all marketing materials are aligned with the University of Arizona brand (and established family brands, where appropriate) in message, tone and visuals. Collaborates with central digital, creative, and content marketing teams where appropriate to execute Enrollment Marketing, Communication & Events projects.

5. Performs light copywriting or copyediting functions for projects that do not require the services of a professional copywriter. Performs other related duties as assigned.

* Prepare marketing reports that are clear and strategic.
* Communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of educational, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
* Provide close attention to detail.
* Meet targets and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field AND five years of related work experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience
