Quality experience in a manufacturing environment. ISO 9000/AS9100 Quality Management System preferred.
Skills Required * Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9000 or AS9100). * Problem-solving skills to assist in root cause analysis and solution identification. Experience in resolving internal and external quality issues. * Leadership to effectively manage customer requirements and expectations. * Ability to lead and supervise quality department personnel. * Experience with FMEA, PPAP, FAI, and RCCA. * Experience working directly with the customer and being able to interpret customer requirements. * Experience with QMS and/or process Auditing * Demonstrated teamwork to work collaboratively with all departments to effectively accomplish company goals. * Advanced computer and writing skills. Skilled in the use of Word and Excel. * Ability to read, understand and explain schematics, blueprints and/or technical manuals. * Effective communication skills. Direct customers and supplier interaction experience desired. Minimum Job Requirements * Physical- Generally sedentary work. Some light lifting may be involved. Proficient in the use of a PC keyboard with or without reasonable accommodation. * Working Hours- fulltime employment * Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multitask and trouble shoot. Must be "quality minded." * Displays good leadership qualities. Be a role model for the department and set the standard of productivity, safety and quality for employees of different levels to follow. Has a desire to mentor and develop employees. Level of Responsibility and Authority Responsible to ensure the quality of product being shipped and authorized to hold shipments if quality is suspect. Given organizational freedom and unrestricted access to top management in order to resolve quality issues. Assign and direct quality inspectors and technicians. Perform annual performance reviews. Appoint personnel authorized to disposition nonconforming material based on position, experience and knowledge of product/process.
Job Duties * Responsible for day-to-day operations and directions in Quality department in Tucson facility. * Manage department employees including performance, evaluations, training, development, mentoring, work assignments, problem resolutions, hiring and terminations in accordance with HR policies. * Audit the Quality Management System, procedures and processes. Assure all procedures are followed. * Ensure QMS system is adequately and accurately document for the Tucson facility. * Support the Plant Managers in the continual improvement of processes. * Provide regular communication to the Quality Manager. * Support corporate level projects identified by the Quality Manager. * Complete FMES, FAIs, and PPAPs in accordance with customer requirements * Manage the process for Corrective and Preventive Actions and drive to RCCA. * Ensure customer satisfaction through relationship, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. * Lead or assist, as applicable, root cause investigations. Implement and verify * corrective actions. * Complete customer required/requested quality reports in a timely manner. * Provide quality metrics, as requested. * Oversee the functioning and maintenance of departmental equipment, measurement instruments, and infrastructure to ensure product and process quality is met. * Ensure statutory, regulatory and environmental regulations are met within the department. * Communicate an demonstrate company policies and values to others in the organization. * Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective. * Other ad hoc duties, as assigned. |
