Job Description

1st Shift: 6am - 2:30pm

Compensation Range: $18.50/h - $21.00/h * Dependent on Experience*

SUMMARY:

This position performs diversified duties to support the overall Shell Room functions, including plating/de-plating, dip preparation, robot activities, and cleanliness and organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform plating, de-plating, and autoclave operations as required; ensure proper installation and adjustments of molds onto plates and hangers.
  • Responsible for following operational procedures and using the recipe to make slurry batches
  • Check viscosity of slurries and pre-dip; do sand bed checks.
  • Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of slurry tanks, sand beds, floor hangers, and plates.
  • Support the robot operator by performing tasks such as blowing off parts between dips; making slurry batches; keeping the sand beds filled; transferring parts from line to line; and setting up R1 and R3 with new parts.
  • Responsible for keeping the robots operational during breaks and lunch period of the robot operators.
  • Detect faulty operations and defective material; report these and any unusual conditions to the robot operator or supervisor.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Must know and follow all departmental and company safety rules.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies, and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
  • Perform all physical requirements* of position.
  • Meet established attendance standards.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate, required records of work executed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Use simple math, including decimals and fractions.
  • Work from sample gated assemblies, photos, or written instructions with normal supervision and assistance.
  • Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, or similar information.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, test equipment, or other devices where interpretation is required.
  • Perform a variety of hand operations and utilize a large selection of hand tools and related production facilities. These require good manual dexterity and close visual attention, in order to perform the operations properly and meet all general quality and quantity requirements, plus any that are special to each job.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • 1 year of investment casting-related experience preferred but not required.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
