We are seeking a strategic and experiencedAssociate Director, Legal Operationsto join our growing legal team. This hybrid role blends legal acumen with operational excellence and is ideal for a former attorney or legal professional with deep experience in legal operations, legal consulting, or legal technology. The successful candidate will lead key initiatives across the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) organization-including Legal, Corporate Affairs, Government Affairs & Public Policy, and Patient Centricity-and will be instrumental in developing and executing a multi-year legal technology and operations roadmap.

This is a high-impact, leadership role with responsibility for managing legal operations professionals and e-billing staff, driving cross-functional projects, and optimizing legal service delivery across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of legal operations and e-billing professionals, providing mentorship, performance management, and career development.

  • Design and implement a multi-year legal technology and operations roadmap aligned with business and legal department goals, including oversight of legal tech platforms (e.g., matter management, e-billing, document management) and ensuring effective adoption and optimization.

  • Drive operational excellence across the CLO organization by developing scalable processes, systems, and tools.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Legal, Corporate Affairs, Government Affairs, Public Policy, and Patient Centricity to support strategic initiatives and operational needs.

  • Manage outside counsel and vendor relationships, including performance tracking, billing compliance, and cost optimization.

  • Support legal department budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.

  • Develop and monitor KPIs and metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Lead or support change management, training, and knowledge management initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; J.D. preferred but not required.

  • 7+ years of experience in legal operations, legal consulting, or legal technology, with at least 3 years of people management experience.

  • Strong candidates will include former attorneys now working in legal operations, legal consulting, or for legal tech or e-discovery vendors.

  • Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional projects and managing high-performing teams.

  • Deep understanding of legal department functions, operations, and technology.

  • Experience with legal tech platforms such as e-billing, matter management, CLM, and document management systems.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

  • Pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare experience preferred.

  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is: $156,000.00 - $234,000.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
