Short Intro and About the Job

Danone North America (NA) is looking for a Packaging Engineer II, for their North American based Division, to be located in Louisville, Colorado.

The Packaging Engineer II is responsible to partner with the procurement & operations teams to identify and deliver cost savings, security of supply, and packages for capacity expansion to support Danone North America's annual productivity and supply agenda.

In this role you will be accountable for:

    Develop primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging
  • Execute productivity projects and business continuity (BCP) projects across all Danone NA business categories, ie yogurt, beverage, milk, plant-based, baby food brands with the focus area of yogurt.
  • Ensure development of new technical & material concepts for packaging solutions via collaboration with internal and external experts to drive value and growth within all efficiency & productivity programs.
  • Partnering with procurement to qualify and deliver on productivity and BCP ideas.
  • Collaborate closely with all relevant stakeholders to support operational excellence within launch initiatives across both internal and external manufacturing facilities.
  • Organize and conduct trials in an industrial environment.

The salary range for this position is $80,000-100,000 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree minimum, Master degree in Sciences or Engineering ideal (Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering science)
  • 2+ years experience in a packaging productivity engineering field (preferably in the food or beverage industry)
  • Experience in the following packaging formats, with advanced understanding of 1-2 of these
    • Paper-based packaging (corrugated and compact)
    • Fill-form-seal (FFS) single serve cup forming
    • Flexibles (lidding, pouches, shrink labels and banderole labels)
    • Rigid plastic preforms (bottles, thermoformed cups, and IML cups)
    • Aluminum cans
  • Understanding of cold chain distribution systems
  • Ability to translate new business dynamics & consumer into package design
  • Ability to co-lead cross functional teams involving operations, supply chain, procurement, PMO.
  • Prioritization and organizational skills
  • Lateral thinking and problem solving
  • Detail oriented and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the use of statistical tools for problem solving a plus
  • Established project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter that can autonomously lead low to medium complexity projects
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent business skills and understanding of the levers of R&I
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%
