Advantage Technical is hiring a skilled Design Engineer to support a cutting-edge ADAS engineering team in Newark, CA. If you're passionate about 3D design, sensor integration, and building precision components that meet real-world challenges, this role is for you.

Pay: $70.00 - $73.00/hour (based on experience)

As a Design Engineer, you'll lead the CAD development of sensor mounting brackets (camera, radar, LiDAR) with a strong emphasis on plastic injection-molded components. From concept through release, you'll collaborate across functions to ensure high performance, manufacturability, and seamless vehicle integration.

What You'll Do:



  • Design sensor mounting brackets using CATIA V6 (3D modeling, packaging, and release)
  • Apply DFM/DFS principles to ensure tooling feasibility and manufacturability
  • Collaborate with: Sensor teams for alignment and tolerances, Manufacturing/tooling teams for mold design and review, BIW and packaging teams to optimize component placement, Simulation/NVH teams to meet vibration, thermal, and structural requirements
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and prepare detailed 2D drawings using GD&T
  • Release parts and manage BOMs using 3DX PLM
  • Support prototype builds, tool kick-offs, and validation phases



What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or a related Engineering field
  • 3+ years of automotive design experience, ideally in sensor packaging or bracket development
  • Proficiency in CATIA V6
  • Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding design (e.g., ribs, bosses, draft, warpage)
  • Familiar with ADAS sensor packaging and alignment requirements
  • Proficient in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up techniques
  • Experience working in cross-functional and fast-paced environments
