Financial Analyst

We're looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team and help drive data-informed strategies that support our members and our mission. With your analytical mindset and attention to detail, you'll play a key role in forecasting, financial planning, and providing insights that help Rize grow responsibly and sustainably.

The listed salary range applies to candidates located in California. Compensation may vary based on location

What You'll Do

As a Financial Analyst, you'll dive deep into financial data to forecast trends, analyze performance, and support key strategic initiatives. You'll help ensure our financial models, reporting, and recommendations reflect both accuracy and innovation-all while keeping the member experience at the heart of every decision.




  • Forecasting & Reporting - Preparing financial forecasts, balance sheet and income projections, and monthly reports that guide leadership decisions.



  • Analysis & Insights - Monitoring cash flow, loan and deposit trends, and pricing to support profitability and growth.



  • Strategic Support - Assisting with budgeting, strategic planning, and ALCO reporting while developing models that support long-term financial health.



  • Data Management - Using SQL and financial modeling tools like PROFITstar to extract and analyze data, delivering clear, actionable insights.



  • Asset Liability Management - Running simulations, validating assumptions, and analyzing results to support sound balance sheet management.



  • Continuous Improvement - Recommending enhancements to improve financial processes, tools, and controls.



What We're Looking For

Experience


  • 3-5 years of financial analysis experience, preferably within a financial institution
  • Experience with Report Writers, GL Accounting Systems, Data Visualization Software
  • Strong financial statement knowledge and understanding of the structure of a credit union's balance sheet and income statement
  • Robust knowledge of financial operations of a credit union, including but not limited to, profitability, liquidity, credit risk, interest rate risk, ALM, loan and deposit pricing
  • Experience in applying techniques used in analyzing and reporting financial information
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and management techniques
  • Experience & understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP)


Education/Certifications/Licenses


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Able to manage differing opinions diplomatically, especially when financial findings challenge departmental assumptions.
  • Able to clearly explain complex financial information in a way that's understandable to non-finance audiences.


Computer Skills


  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) especially complex formula/function development and utilizing PivotTables and other methods to manipulate large datasets.
  • Familiarity with SQL and ability to write simple SQL queries
  • Understand basic Business Information system concepts


Other Skills - Reasoning Ability


  • The ability to break down complex financial data, identify key drivers and trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Evaluates data objectively, questions assumptions, and uses logic to determine the accuracy and relevance of information.
  • Applies structured reasoning to diagnose issues, forecast outcomes, and develop data-supported recommendations that improve business performance.
