Job Summary: The Staff Tax Accountant, Sales/Use Tax and Business Licenses, manages the administration, preparation, review and payment of sales/use, gross receipts and excise tax returns as well as business licenses for all Clear Channel related entities. This role ensures adherence to all applicable state and local tax laws, ordinances, and regulations, aiming to minimize the company's tax exposure and liabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- File and review multi-state sales and use tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure timely filing and through review of business licenses.
- Compile month end spreadsheets from field and accounting systems to support sales/use tax returns and business license filings.
- Assist business units by addressing inquiries related to general ledger sales/use tax account reconciliations.
- Research and provide accurate sales tax rates as requested.
- Prepare month end journal entries related to sales/use tax and business licenses.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications: Education and Certifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military
Work Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant and progressive professional experience in a large public accounting firm or corporation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of sales/use tax and business license laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Strong proficiency using Vertex sales/use tax filing software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for data compilation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
