Position Summary MSU Denver is seeking applicants for an Academic Department Coordinator position within our Department of History. The Academic Department Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the department's mission of teaching and learning while upholding the university's commitment to excellence, ethics, and accessibility. The Academic Department Coordinator provides confidential assistance to the department chair and faculty, ensuring smooth operations across academic, administrative, and resource management functions, including strategic and operational oversight of departmental budgets. The candidate selected for hire will demonstrate professional, efficient, and effective management by delivering timely and courteous service to all constituencies-including students, faculty, staff, and the public. This position actively contributes to the university's strategic goals through a commitment to fostering relationships that support student success, retention, graduation, and a strong sense of community. Salary for Announcement Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary range that the university reasonably expects to pay for this position is $52,000 - $59,000. This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
