Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Public Safety or designee, the Accreditation Manager oversees the accreditation activities for the Public Safety department, with the specific goals of achieving and maintaining accreditation, first through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), and subsequently through the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) and the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC). To achieve these goals, the Accreditation Manager remains current on CALEA, IACLEA, and PLEAC standards as well as applicable regulations and guidelines; identifies gaps between those standards and departmental policies and procedures; and makes recommendations to and works with departmental leadership to close those gaps. In addition, the Manager is responsible for managing the department's catalog of policies and procedures, providing trainings and presentations to stakeholders regarding the accreditation process, and representing the department on accreditation-related matters.

Required Education & Experience:
*Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, business administration or related field., and a minimum of four years of relevant experience that includes law enforcement, policy development, managing large projects.

*A minimum of two years of experience overseeing, managing, or closely assisting with law enforcement accreditation

Required skills and abilities:
*Knowledge and experience managing or leading a CALEA's Law Enforcement Accreditation program
*Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and other software programs
*Ability to foster cooperative working relationships with department members and outside agencies.
*Strong organizational skills and written and interpersonal communication skills.
*Knowledge of modern law enforcement management principles, practices, and methods.
*Knowledge of all computer hardware and applications related to the performance of the essential function of the job.
*Knowledge of the software PowerDMS.
