Description

Job Title: Caseworker/ Office Worker

FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt

Reports to: Center Director

Schedule: 40 hours /week

Supervises: N/A

Rate of Pay: $25.75/ hour

Closing Date: 10/17/2025

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Essential Functions:

To provide direct relief services and resources to
clients on behalf of The Salvation Army in both languages, and to support the daily office and
client assistance operations. As an employee of The Salvation Army, a California Corporation,
the Caseworker reports to the Center Director, who reports to the Divisional Service Director.



  • Multitask office tasks such as answering phones, providing information to callers and
    walk-ins in both languages.
  • Support colleagues, volunteers, board members, director and the Division.
  • Interview and ascertain needs of clients with empathy. Determine if emergency needs fit
  • TSA guidelines and prepare thorough case management documentation.
  • Guide clients with compassion, advocacy, information and solutions.
  • Obtain photo ID from clients and permission to verify, release and share information.
  • Update application forms, information, and other client forms.
  • Work with vendors to obtain invoices, W9's and other relevant paperwork.
  • Input and file case documentation using databases such as WellSky, Microsoft Teams and other data in a timely manner.
  • Manage Energy Outreach Colorado assistance applications and submission.
  • Collaborate with other county/state agencies and organizations to determine the best
    course of action or a referral for a client or family asking for assistance.
  • Submit accurate weekly and monthly reports and statistics in a timely manner using NSS application.
  • Submit request for payments to AP Workflow, prepare paperwork/vouchers, including all
    backup required by auditors and submit to DHQ Finance Department for payment.
  • Assist with the center's programs, such as food pantry and TEFAP, as well as Christmas
  • Adopt-a-Family, Holiday food baskets, Toy Cabin, bell ringing, and Angel Tree.
  • Assist in tracking volunteer hours and forms, group activities, classes for reporting.
  • Update statistics for Center director and other data for grants, reports, etc.
  • Attend meetings, training courses and community events as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by center director.


Education and Work Experience:



  • Associate degree or at least two years in a related field or professional experience in a related human services field.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:



  • Bilingual and biliteral English and Spanish.
  • Excellent oral communication and writing skill in Spanish
    and English.
  • Culturally appropriate customer service. Ability to support and work effectively with
    colleagues, agencies and clients of all backgrounds.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.


Computer-related skills:



  • Windows: Microsoft Word and Excel required, working knowledge of integrated database applications, ability to learn new software programs, social media.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to maneuver.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position.
  • Ability to grasp, pull, push and reach overhead.
  • Ability to operate telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to access and produce information from a computer, to understand written information.

Driving Requirements:



  • A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver's license is required.
  • An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
