Job Description

The IRA/HSA Services Specialist I is responsible to oversee the overall day-to-day operational functions of the IRA/HSA services department, and follow applicable regulations.

Essential Functions
* Ensure total IRA and HSA document and data integrity
* Manage personal workload/workflow
* Identify and resolve Customer Service issues
* Work to obtain Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) designation, and HSA Expert Certification
* Keep current on regulation changes regarding IRA and HSA products
* Conduct training for branches on IRAs and HSAs
* Provide excellent customer and business unit support service
* Maintain knowledge of IRA and HSA banking products and services
* Perform quality control review over all new IRAs and HSAs opened and transactions
* Track missing new account documents and follow up with branches
* Review each IRA plan to ensure compliance with requirements
* Review and resolve exception and reject reports
* Process all direct transfers requests to other financial institutions
* Perform critical account maintenance on IRAs and HSAs
* Evaluate records, perform due diligence and the submission for all states that require unclaimed property reporting
* Track and remit customer's federal withholding to the IRS
* Perform quality control review for end of year tax reporting
* Review online account opening system for new HSAs that are pending approval
* Process initial funding and services for new HSAs opened online
* Communicate with customers on IRA and HSA questions or issues
* Notify beneficiaries of their designation and options for Inherited IRAs, and Inherited IRA beneficiaries of any RMDD requirements
* Communicate annual plan requirements to businesses as applicable
* Maintain appropriate departmental records and reports
* Ensure total quality of work performed
* Recommend quality control enhancements

* Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
* Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
* Work as part of a team
* Work with on-site equipment

Additional Responsibilities
* Complete special projects as assigned

Safety and Health for those without supervisory duties
* Abide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention program
* Perform work tasks in a safe manner
* Report any and all injuries to supervisor
* Know what to do in case of an emergency

Preferred Education

High School Diplomaor equivalent

Preferred Work Experience

Less than 2 yearsIRA/HSA Services experience
2 - 6 years related banking experience
2 - 6 years relevant experience
