Job Summary:
The DoIT Inventory Control Supervisor oversees inventory operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across the organization. This 100% on-site role supervises staff responsible for inventory management, mail and package logistics, and internal distribution, while also managing the unit budget. The supervisor plays a strategic role in maintaining operational consistency, resolving inventory discrepancies, and supporting capital equipment tracking. This position is vital to maintaining smooth and secure inventory and distribution processes within the organization. Key responsibilities include coordinating procurement and replenishment, inspecting and adding incoming items to inventory, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring proper handling and security of equipment. Additionally, they manage the building loading dock, fleet and forklift operations, and provide backup support to their logistics team as needed. The ideal candidate for this position has excellent supervisory, organization, communication and problem resolution skills, and is adept at managing relationships amongst internal stakeholders. Division of Information Technology, User Services, Logistics User Services delivers client-centered support to meet the academic, administrative, and research needs of the UW-Madison campus community. We offer a broad range of consultation and user support services through the Help Desk, InfoLabs, Product Management, and Departmental Support. Additionally, we provide and maintain enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) applications that enhances collaboration and communication across campus. The logistics team provides essential on-site material handling and tracking services for multiple DoIT departments and the Division Property Manager. Core responsibilities include inventory management and capital item tracking, loading dock receiving, product storage, order fulfillment, shipping and mail delivery, and fleet management. Compensation:Starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications. Well-qualified applicants can anticipate earning between $31.25/hr - $38/hr with a final rate based on experience and qualifications.
