Microsoft Tax & Customs Department is responsible for Worldwide Tax & Customs Reporting, Compliance, and Planning, including the technology and process & innovation functions to support the coordination of the worldwide tax and Customs functions. There are four major functions within the Tax and Customs Department. 1) Tax Reporting and Transfer Pricing, 2) Customs, Tax Process & Innovation, 3) Corporate Tax Planning & Controversies, Indirect Tax & Global Business Initiatives, 4) Tax & Customs Controllership, Policy and Benefits Taxation.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with preparation of Microsoft's US GAAP income tax accounting models including deferred accounting, payable accounting, tax accounts roll-forward, FIN48, return-to-provision true-up, SBC and ETRProvide support with building the processes and calendar to ensure a smooth connection among accounting, tax compliance and tax accounting functionsBuild excellent audit files to support financial statement auditsProvide audit support to the Tax Controversies group for issues related to US income tax positions and filingsAssistance with maintenance and compliance of key SOX controls related to US tax accountingScrutinize, challenge, and propose changes to existing processes and proceduresKeep up to date with tax legislation, SEC Regulations, and US GAAP changes, practice and global developments |
