https://health.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties:The Electronic Health Records (EHR) Informatics Specialist will lead and support the optimization, implementation, and maintenance of electronic medical records systems across our healthcare organization. This role bridges clinical expertise with informatics, ensuring that EHR systems enhance patient care, streamline workflows, and comply with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading EHR system upgrades, testing and training initiatives. Troubleshooting EHR-related issues and coordinate with vendors or internal IT for resolution. Ensuring compliance with HIPAA, FERPA and other federal or state regulations regarding health information management, privacy and security. Developing customized reports within the EHR platform to meet the needs of care teams and organizational initiatives. Participating in the quality improvement, risk management and compliance initiatives and contributing to data-driven decision making.

Pat Walker is open Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in health informatics, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least three years of experience working with EHR systems in a clinical or informatics role

Applicable equivalencies may be considered for the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (e.g., CAHIMS, CPHIMS) or equivalent

  • RHIA, MD, APRN, PA, RN or equivalent healthcare licensure/certification

  • Experience in project management or leading EHR implementation teams

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations (HIPAA, FERPA)

  • Proficiency in EHR platforms (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Point and Click, Medicat)

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with data analytics tools and reporting systems
