Sr. Director, Business Operations

We have an opportunity for a Sr. Director, Business Operations to join ourITteam inSanta Clara, CA (HQ), Tacoma WA, or remote U.S. In this pivotal and cross-functional role, you will use your exemplary interpersonal skills to work across all levels of organizational seniority. As a member of the IT team, you will serve as a liaison, influencer, and aggregator to ensure the IT senior leadership function operates as a high-performing team, and that Information Technology's highest priorities are successful.

In this role, you will work to influence organizational culture, define people and financial investment strategies, and shape critical strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for operational execution, planning, forecasting, business insight and analysis, and driving cross-functional collaboration while managing the daily rhythm of the IT organization. Acting as the logistical center of IT, you will ensure that cross-functional activities and tasks are delivered in an organized and structured manner. The role will focus on maximizing IT resource productivity and aggregating metrics to demonstrate efficiency and value delivery

The position will lead strategic planning efforts, including defining and maintaining Infoblox's technology business strategy and target state architecture with the Enterprise Architecture team, managing strategic initiative prioritization, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals through ROI and KPI methodologies. Key responsibilities include owning future-year roadmaps, leading governance processes, and driving clear communication of priorities across IT. This role oversees IT performance metrics, financial management, and vendor relationships, including establishing dashboards, managing budgets and forecasts, and coordinating acquisition-related costs. Additional duties include supplier management, policy creation, resource strategy, and special projects, as well as crafting executive-level communications and promoting transparency across IT. Ultimately, this leader ensures effective decision-making capture, fosters collaboration, and champions operational excellence throughout the organization.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, balancing qualitative and quantitative analysis with strategic and operational insight
  • Skilled in independent, fact-based analysis to resolve complex issues across IT organizations
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset focused on building consensus and driving global IT success
  • Proven experience creating strategic plans and positioning documents
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adept at creating clarity in uncertain situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including process documentation
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, project management, and organizational capabilities
  • Financial expertise in budgeting, reporting, and modeling, with knowledge of tools and operations planning
  • Experience partnering with IT development teams on complex projects



Be Prepared - What You Bring


  • 12+ years of experience working in a combination of Information Technology, Business Operations, and IT Finance
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree is required, or equivalent, applicable experience. MBA, MS, or advanced management training preferred
  • Highly proactive, extremely organized, self-starter capable of effectively balancing multiple projects
  • Fortitude, drive, and persistence to get things done in pursuit of ambiguous goals
  • Program Management or Project Leadership experience to ensure milestones and deliverables are completed to specifications, on time, and on budget
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver concise and impactful C-level presentations
  • Proven ability to build Financial Models that can evolve over time to drive strategic decision making
  • Strong communication skills and technical aptitude
  • High EQ with an ability to work with many different personality types and positively influence peers

Be Successful - Your Path

First 90 Days: Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), and map the systems and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work. Discuss and create short/long term goals.

Six Months: Establish a strong operational rhythm by implementing governance processes, defining IT metrics dashboards, and ensuring clear communication of priorities across the organization. Begin driving strategic planning activities and financial forecasting while building trust and alignment with IT leadership and cross-functional partners.

One Year: Fully operationalize Infoblox's technology business strategy by delivering a comprehensive roadmap, mature financial and vendor management frameworks, and a self-sustaining governance structure. Demonstrate measurable improvements in IT efficiency, strategic initiative execution, and organizational clarity, positioning IT as a high-performing, data-driven function.

We practice pay transparency and reward performance. Offers reflect role location, internal equity, experience, skills, education, and certifications. Base salary for this position: $208,100.00 - $323,950.00 plus bonus.
