Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Senior Cloud Engineer is highly skilled with a deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. This engineer leads the design, deployment, and integration of a new GCP & Azure environment that seamlessly connects into our existing backbone. This is a critical role that will shape the future of our AI hybrid cloud infrastructure and ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance connectivity across platforms.

Essential Functions

* Architect, build, and deploy a new GCP environment from the ground up.

* Design and implement secure, high-throughput network connectivity between GCP and Azure, leveraging Azure backbone and interconnect solutions.

* Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure cloud infrastructure meets performance, compliance, and security standards across our Ecosystem.

* Monitor and optimize cloud environments for cost, performance, and reliability.

* Troubleshoot complex networking and cloud infrastructure issues across GCP and Azure.

* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.

* Evaluate and recommend GCP, Azure and third-party tools to optimize performance, cost, and scalability.

* Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline - Required

Bachelors Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline - Preferred

Experience

5 years Experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure architecture roles - Required

3 years Proven experience designing and deploying production workloads in GCP and Azure - Required

Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPCs, VPNs, interconnects, ExpressRoute, and hybrid connectivity - Required

Strong knowledge of GCP services including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory - Required

Proficiency in cloud networking, security, and identity management - Required

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell - Required

Familiarity with cloud security best practices and identity management (IAM, service accounts, etc.) - Required

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment - Required

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Required

Knowledge of container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, GKE, AKS) - Preferred

Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Azure Monitor, Prometheus) - Preferred

Certifications and Licensure

GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Azure Solutions Architect certification - Preferred
