The Senior Manager of Internal and Stakeholder Communications is responsible for leading key internal communications strategies to inform, engage, and inspire employees while fostering a strong organizational culture. This role will lead strategic planning, content creation, and channel management for the key City of Hope system initiatives and leads stakeholder facing communications and emergency response.

As part of internal communications, this individual will develop and distribute key messaging to employees across the entire City of Hope system. They will collaborate with various departments to advise on communication strategies, ensuring effective execution and day-to-day planning. Additionally, they will cultivate relationships with leaders and content owners to shape and enhance communication efforts.

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled writer and communicator who can simplify complex ideas into clear, engaging messages across multiple platforms. They should be a collaborative and proactive team player with a passion for storytelling that builds community by sharing meaningful successes. Strong organizational skills are essential, as this role requires managing multiple long-term projects with distinct timelines and objectives.

Success in this role requires initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex environment. The incumbent must take ownership of projects, ensuring timely execution through effective systems and processes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creates integrated internal communications, engagement and change management plans that support key enterprise and local priorities. Includes full scope of project management from ideation to execution.

  • Leads the development and execution of strategic communications for City of Hope patients, stakeholders, ensuring timely updates and fostering meaningful, inspirational engagement. Provides guidance to strategic entity partners on best practices for effective patient communication.

  • Communicates and maintains strong, positive working relationships with internal stakeholders including scientists, faculty, leadership, department administrators and management, and City of Hope administration, as well as Marketing & Communications colleagues to anticipate upcoming needs.

  • Leads internal employee crisis communications for City of Hope system partnering with leadership and incident command teams to quickly determine, craft and execute on messaging.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • B.A. in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in internal communications, preferably in a healthcare setting.

  • Proven track record developing and executing creative communications strategies for internal stakeholders.

Additional Information:

Job Status: Full time, exempt

Salary range $ 117,104 - $195,561

City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.
