FlexStaff is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations at a leading food production facility. This critical role focuses on ensuring the reliable operation of all equipment and the plant, minimizing downtime, and upholding strict food safety standards.

Responsibilities:



  • Lead & Develop Team: Direct, mentor, and train the maintenance team; establish priorities and manage staffing for multiple shifts.
  • Drive Safety: Foster and enforce a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the departmental budget, controlling expenses for repairs and parts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a liaison with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering departments.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement robust preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Equipment Oversight: Oversee the repair and installation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic production equipment and facility systems.
  • Performance Analysis: Track and analyze KPIs (e.g., OEE) to identify and resolve root causes of equipment failures.
  • CMMS Utilization: Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders, spare parts, and equipment history.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services and installations.
  • Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety standards (GMPs, HACCP) and participate in audits.
  • Project & Continuous Improvement: Manage capital projects and lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, TPM).


Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or a related technical field, or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • Experience: 5+ years in industrial maintenance, with significant experience in a food manufacturing environment. Several years of prior management or supervisory experience required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of PLCs, electrical systems (including 480V 3-phase), mechanical systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of food safety (HACCP, GMPs, FDA) and occupational safety (OSHA) regulations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
  • Software: Proficient in CMMS and basic Microsoft Office Suite.
