To tell these stories and communicate key messages about our college, we offer an array of tools and creative services, such as graphic and web design, editorial assistance, event planning, media relations, photography and social media promotion.

The Public Relations and Marketing Communications department at Perimeter College is seeking to hire an Marketing Support Specialist (Limited Term).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position will provide administrative support to the Public Relations and Marketing Communications department. This position is based at the Perimeter College Decatur Campus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Administrative Support:

  • Provides administrative support for all Public Relations and Marketing Communications (PRMC) activities, such as calendars, website updates, Marketing Cloud email creation and management and other communications.
  • Maintains supplies in the supply room and follows up on any equipment needs.
  • Follows up on phone calls and other duties as assigned.

Writing & Project Coordination:

  • Supports Director of Public Relations and Marketing Communications in creating communication such as communication plans, new articles, reports and other communication.
  • Monitors and updates the communications calendar and coordinates project intake requests with appropriate staff members.
  • Attends meetings to manage the project workflow.
  • Communicates with staff to understand their calendar updates and how it will impact the deadlines of projects.

Design & Social Media:

  • Back up support for social media using Hootsuite and design support for design team using Canva and other design tools.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations and 3 years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

    Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Skills with any graphics programs is preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.

  • Must be an organized multi-tasker and self-motivated.

  • Consummate professional and outstanding customer service skills.
