What to Expect

Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start January 2026 and continue through the entire Spring 2026 term (through April/May 2026). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks at 40 hours per week, for this internship.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. Again, please do not apply until you know you can work 40 hours per week. This is required for external applicants. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

We provide an experience that allows for the intern to experience life at Tesla by giving them projects that are critical to their team's success.

The Supercharger Product and Service Engineering is the link between the field, manufacturing and design. The team works with large amounts of data and develops tools and algorithms to diagnose issues, drive improvements and design changes. The Supercharger Product and Service Engineering is looking for results oriented intern to join the team.


What You'll Do
  • Performing data analytics across several databases with the aim of identifying problems impacting fleet uptime, performance and availability for the Supercharger Fleet
  • Modelling and analysis of energy asset health indicators based on time series data
  • Building automated tools and infrastructure to perform data analytics, review existing data for accuracy, and flag abnormalities
  • Use front and back end web development to create web platforms to view data analytics for the Supercharger fleet
  • Develop diagnostics tools to aid technicians and technical support in the live diagnosis of issues

What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Data Science), or a related field
  • Basics data analysis (SQL, Spark, Presto)
  • Good basics of coding experience (Python, Ruby, Java)
  • Unix operating systems and networking basics
  • Industrial Power project experience - cable ratings, site layout and installation considerations is a plus
  • Experience in energy system asset monitoring (maintenance, replacement, reliability and lifetime evaluation) is a plus
  • High power DC EV charging experience and power electronic converters is a plus
  • Power System protection basics - Power system protection relays, power system protection settings and co-ordination is a plus
  • Prior experience creating data analytics infrastructure, tools and insights on large datasets is a plus
  • Exposure to the development of advance control algorithms is a plus

    Expected Compensation
    $20.00 - $33.65/hour + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
