Summary

The Tender Specialist is a strategic role in DSV, focused on managing and optimizing the tender process for the company. This position plays a critical role in developing pricing strategies, responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), and ensuring competitive positioning in the market. You will also be responsible for a variety of department tasks which include and are not limited to internal rate procurement, rate development, response development, working with global stakeholders, extensive work using Microsoft Excel, managing timelines, and stakeholder inputs.

Ideal candidates will be organized, strategic thinkers, quick learners, and extremely analytical. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are a MUST. Additionally, applicants must have excellent communication and time management skills and be able to work efficiently in a small team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will be part of a department that is tasked with providing analysis, insights and process enhancements through rigorous examination and manipulation of data using Microsoft Excel. You will be a key contributor that will collaborate cross-functionally across various departments of the Company to understand business stakeholder requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Lead the end-to-end process of responding to tenders and requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Analyze customer requirements and collaborate with internal teams to develop comprehensive responses.
  • Develop Internal Templates


  • Compiling & pre-populating pricing inputs using Microsoft Excel VLOOKUP techniques.
  • Develop formulas using Microsoft Excel
  • Handle project and tasks assignments in a timely manner.
  • Develop and analyze detailed reports, charts, and shipment simulations to illustrate variances, overall spend calculations, and other using Microsoft Excel formulas.


  • Conduct competitive analysis to ensure the competitiveness of pricing structures.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor pricing.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market research.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and other departments to create compelling and competitive proposals.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness in all tender submissions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and tailor proposals accordingly.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on tender performance, win/loss analysis, and pricing effectiveness.


  • Learn & gain transportation knowledge in all modes of transport to demonstrate knowledge & decision-making methodologies during future assignments/projects.
  • Good written and verbal communication



Educational background / Work experience



  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong data analysis and modeling skills
  • Comfortable working with large data sets
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel
  • Degree or Course work in Statistics, Mathematics, Social Sciences, or Business-related field.



Skills & Competencies



  • Strong understanding of logistics and transportation industry dynamics preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.


  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis. Have strong computer skills and be proficient in MS Word, Access, and specifically Microsoft Excel.


    • Microsoft Excel - Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Must be able to seamlessly write & combine complex and nested formulas, and should know how to debug them, audit them and creatively implement formula solutions fitting the requirements.



  • Knowledge of macros is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL & VBA (a plus)

DSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as "at will" employees. This means that an employee may be terminated for any reason, or no reason at all, at any time, provided the discharge does not violate any law*. Additionally, each employee has the right to terminate his/her employment at any time. *Except if employed in Montana, where termination requires just cause.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $51,000 - $69,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location and other objective business considerations.
