This role leads the organization's US trade compliance strategy and ensures adherence to export/import regulations across all operating countries. The position combines strategic leadership with tactical implementation of trade compliance programs. 
 Lead trade compliance strategy, policy development, and program implementationServe as both Import Control Officer (ICO) and Export Control Officer (ECO)Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to stakeholdersProvide expertise on international trade compliance trendsDevelop and maintain Import/Export Management System proceduresImplement supply chain security policies ensuring Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) complianceManage trade optimization initiatives including duty drawback and free trade agreements (USMCA and others)Analyze domestic and foreign trade policies, including legislation and regulationsPartner with government relations to advocate for fair trade policies aligned with company interestsCollaborate with global affiliates to ensure worldwide compliance with trade regulations This position requires expertise in international trade regulations, compliance management, and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business strategies. Major Tasks & Responsibilities TRADE COMPLIANCE 
 Function as expert on global and U.S. import/export trade compliance mattersServe as U.S. Export Control Officer and U.S./Canadian Import Control OfficerAct as primary point of contact with U.S. government regarding import/export complianceMaintain and communicate updates to Export and Import Management Systems (EMS/IMS)Interface with CBP, Department of Commerce, OFAC and other regulatory agenciesWork with internal/external legal counsel on compliance issues and regulatory interpretationOversee product tariff classifications, ECCNs, and export licensing requirementsReview operating procedures to ensure strong internal controls and regulatory complianceRepresent the U.S. in global Trade Community CouncilsConduct internal compliance assessments and develop corrective action plansProvide training on import/export compliance and proceduresEnsure Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) compliance and represent during inspectionsIdentify and mitigate international trade compliance risks TRADE OPTIMIZATION 
 Manage USMCA and other free trade agreement qualification processesOversee duty drawback activities to maximize duty recoveryAdvise on Foreign Trade Zones and bonded warehouse optimizationAdminister the company's Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portalSupport tariff savings through preferential trade programs TRADE POLICY 
 Build industry relationships to advance company's trade agendaDevelop legislative proposals to enhance international trade opportunitiesRepresent the company before government agencies, Congress, and international organizationsAdvocate for company trade policy in collaboration with government relations SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY 
 Coordinate the U.S. Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) programDevelop and implement supply chain security policies and proceduresManage internal and external CTPAT compliance audit programsCreate and coordinate required training programsDevelop requirements for external business partners LEADERSHIP 
 Manage external resources including law firms and consultantsImplement industry and global best practicesSupervise and develop trade compliance staffServe as the company's voice on international trade mattersCollaborate with Tax department to optimize IC-DISC benefits Basic Qualifications 
 Bachelor's degree in Business, International Business, Finance or relevant field with 8+ years of experience in global trade/regulatory arena; OR Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in global trade/regulatory arenaExperience with U.S. Customs, Department of Commerce, Treasury, and international regulatory agenciesPrevious experience directly leading teams/people (preferably 5+ years) Knowledge and Skills
